The electronic music scene is one that thrives on divergence, diversity and disruption, where artists are celebrated for their different sounds. However, in a world where not all ‘clubs’ are created equal, a greater movement is needed to create a more fundamentally equitable scene.

This is the why [sounds*different] was started. We want to disrupt foundational barriers that hold back artists at the edges and the intersections, from breaking through and breaking into the electronic music scene.

We need more channels to amplify the ‘atypical’ and boost the signal for those typically drowned out by the majority noise. Success in our scene should be possible and equitable for everyone, not just those with the privilege to spout ‘work hard and follow your dreams’ insta_inspo.
